Ladon Johnson

Dr. LaDon Johnson served as Animal Nutritionist for North Dakota State University’s Extension Service for 32 years.  During that time he had contact with thousands of farmers and ranchers as he modified and balanced rations for beef, hogs, swine and dairy cattle.  Johnson received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from NDSU and his Ph. D. in Ruminant Nutrition from Ohio State in 1965.

He received the Honorary FFA State Farmer Degree in 1991, and in that same year received the ND Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association Distinguished Service Award and was named the Livestock Division Honoree at the North Dakota Winter Show in 1994.  He was also named as a charter member of the National Cattleman’s Association in 1977, and in the following year received an award as an Honorary Master Pork Producer.  He and his wife, Patricia, live in retirement in Fargo. He has four adult step children and 4 step grandchildren.
